Previous physical editions filled the Coventry hall with close to 250 exhibitor stands, from press shops and laser bays to metrology and training desks. Visitors walked a manufacturing street, not a trade-show maze, and several firms joined the network on the day because the conversation happened in the aisle.
The 2020 season split: the printed date still said July at the Ricoh, then the programme moved to Backing Britain Live from 17th August 2020 when large gatherings paused. The digital hall kept booths and seminars visible. The physical floor waited.
What we carried forward was the reset habit. A good last-year show is not only a photo of a packed Saturday. It is the Monday plan: which stands come down clean, which floors can take another vinyl layer, and which seminar rooms can open again without a carpenter living on site.
